A crappy update

By April. Posted in Personal | 3 Comments »

Okay, this isn’t much of an update, but you would not believe the amount of work I have piled up right now and I just don’t have the time to do a post with pics, etc.

News:

1. I dyed my hair blue. It came out exactly as I wanted it to. The bottom layer of hair is black. The rest is blue. Really really blue. I am going to keep it like this for a while because I really like it. And I don’t think my hair could handle me switching to another color right now. A pic is coming soon.

2. New tattoo! My husband won a free tattoo when his band won the Battle of the Bands at The Music Vault. I complained that he has a bajillion tats and I only have three. So of course…. I get what I want! I will put a picture of it on here as soon as all the yucky scabs fall off. Its basically a red heart with a banner through it that says “Que Sera Sera” and it has blue roses around the heart. Its very pretty and the tattoo artist did a fabulous job. Its on my upper right arm and measures about 5 X 5 inches. It hurt so bad. I plan on getting another one on my other arm in the same spot. Its a zombie pin-up girl. God is that going to hurt even more! That particular tat is much much bigger than this one.

3. My husband and I formed a band with our friends Trace and Chris (you can see those two in an earlier post). My husbands band Remo Gotzi is no more. The lead singer is moving away and there were other reasons as well. One day, Trace came over and was playing guitar while my husband played drums. I was working for a long time and decided to come out of my office for a break. They wanted to show me a song they had just come up with. I listened to it, grabbed a pen, and pumped out lyrics for it. It was great! I came up with a melody to it and they asked me to sing it. They had a mic set up and everything. So I did it a few times and went back to work in my office. A little while later, they asked me to come out because they wanted to talk to me. They asked me if I would be their singer! I said yes of course, so now we have been practicing whenever we can (but Trace is out of town for a month). Chris has joined in as the bass player, although he is just a temp because he will be leaving for recording school next May. To get an idea… we sound like Sleater-Kinney, mixed with Courtney Love, mixed with I don’t know what! But its fun and who knows what will become of it. Jeff is already eager to book us some shows when we have enough songs! Thats kinda freaky, but I’ll have to get over it.

3. I forgot to mention it before, but I got to see Mindless Self Indulgence perform at the Scout Bar in San Antonio in October and a funny thing happened. Trace threw his wallet on stage (purged of all important things of course) and left an old i.d. in there. The lead singer picked it up, took out the i.d. and proceeded to tell the audience what an asshole Tracey J. Roberts was! It was hilarious. Someone took a video of it and we found it on YouTube of course:

Fast-forward the video to 2:15

Warning: Low-Quality

4. I have the flu and a shit load of work to do. Yay. Triple the orders I usually have. People are pissed because I can’t get their orders out fast enough. It sucks. My husband is looking for a job (and being lazy about it – men really suck sometimes). I have no choice but to work my ass off while I am sick.

5. Our friend Trace will be moving in with us for a while when he gets back in town. This will help with some of the bills and we’ll be able to do band practice whenever we want. Yes, living with people is not easy. I realize that.

That is all. Hope to have pics up soon.
