By April. Posted in Music/TV/Movies | 1 Comment »

as if you care. But thats okay. I like to pretend that people actually read this. And sometimes I pretend like I have good taste. And sometimes I really do have good taste. You be the judge.

So, my new favorites are:

Artist: The Fashion

Letters From The Ambulance
Like Knives
Solo Impala
Dead Boys

Artist: Low vs. Diamond

This is Your Life
Killer B
Don’t Forget Sister
Heart Attack
Song We Sang Away

Artist: Tokyo Police Club

Be Good (RAC Remix)
Shoulders & Arms
Nature Of The Experiment

I heard the tax rebates were coming in early, starting tomorrow. I am SOOOOOO ready to get my recording equipment. It feels like xmas, which is a feeling that goes away as you age, but has suddenly returned with a vengeance.

Remo Gotzi, Smokin’

By April. Posted in Family, Music/TV/Movies | No Comments »

Well, I’ve been crafty, but just digitally lately. I’ve been so busy. With the shitty economy, I thought business would slow down, but instead its going full speed ahead. And my husbands band, Remo Gotzi (he’s the drummer), has been playing live shows recently, so I’ve been pretty busy. I created a website for him and also a YouTube channel for the band. I’m going to make their MySpace page pretty sometime this weekend. I am soooooooooo tired. I need some energy drinks asap. Check out the song Smokin’ from their performance last night:

It was Brian’s Birthday (the vocalist) too. He is such a sweetie pie! HAPPY B-DAY BRIAN!!!!!

Unfortunately, I ran out of film for the encore, which got so crazy that some guy fell into the back of my legs and there was broken glass near the stage too. I voted for a naked encore, but my dreams didn’t come true. :(

There’s also a few pics from the show here: Remo Gotzi 4/18/08 and I’ll be adding more when Ambie (bassist Pogi’s woman) sends me the pics she took.

The band was going to start recording their demo last week, but they were so tired from performing the night before, so they decided to try again next week. I can’t wait for them to finish it. They have really great songs. I’m not saying it because I am married to the drummer, but they are a really good band. People love them wherever they go.

Oh yeah… and I sang at Ernie’s last Friday night again. It was Sunday Morning by No Doubt. My voice cracked a couple times because we had been yelling over the loud speakers all night. It was fun though. I am getting more comfortable with it. :)

The Drummers Wife

By April. Posted in Music/TV/Movies | 1 Comment »

My husband and his band played their first show ever last Wednesday night and I was lucky enough to attend because my darling sister-in-law was fabulous enough to babysit. The show was really great, better than I expected. Not that I expected them to suck or anything, but their lead singer Brian sure knows how to scream his ass off. Dustin is a great guitar player and Pogi just rocks! Jeff is of course a great drummer, which everyone keeps saying, but he doesn’t take the compliment very well. He thinks that, because he hasn’t been playing for years and years, he sucks. But he doesn’t understand that sometimes things just come naturally to people. And I doubt other bands would be asking him to fill in for their drummer if he really sucked. He has played two other shows for another band recently and everyone seems to really like him. I am excited for him because he has been dreaming of this for a long time, ever since we moved to Texas and he couldn’t pursue acting anymore.

Its weird being the drummers wife. People I didn’t know seemed to know me and were awfully nice. I felt famous for an evening. Its a strange feeling. I made a bunch of buttons, necklaces, and stickers for the band and everyone seemed to like them.

You can see a video clip of one of their rehearsals here: rehearsal (although both of the guitars players on this video are no longer with the band. I need to go through a bunch of dvds to find some new clips. This was also before the lead singer Brian joined the band.)

My friend Mike (from Jeffs old band The Alter Theory, and a recording expert) has been helping me choose some recording equipment for my computer so I can finally record some of the songs I have been working on. I’m looking at these for now:

Desktop Recording Studio

Condenser Microphone

Microphone Shock Mount

Pop Filter

So yeah… next month when those tax rebates start coming in…. I’m going shopping!!!!!

Sammy News: Sammy can say Mommy, Daddy, Ducky, Cookie, Cocky, Hickey, and Poop. She can also say Yes, although it sounds like ASS.

People are nuts.

By April. Posted in Ebay | 3 Comments »

I have a right to make that comment. I sell on Ebay for a living. I’ve come across every psycho you can think of. The newest…. a woman complaining because Priority Mail is $4.60 and I charge $5.25. Yes my friends, in this day and age $0.65 is life or death.

Whenever I shop on Ebay (which is a lot), I am sympathetic to the fact that the seller is paying Ebay a lot of money to sell their item. Then they have to pay PayPal too. Then they have the cost of packing materials.

I have two more things I am going to say and then my rant will be over (for now):

1. If you are shopping and you are unhappy with the price of shipping, DON’T BUY from them. Do not buy and then email them after the fact, complaining about the price.

2. Would you email Target.com after you purchased from them and complain about their charges? I doubt it. So why are you doing it to me? Am I exempt from the cost of doing business like every other business because I am a small-time seller? I wish.
