So we went to see Pinback on Sunday night in Austin and it was fantastic, as usual. A few minutes before the show ended, Jeff went to the bathroom. He came back, we listened to the rest of the last song, and then Jeff said, “C’mon… I arranged for you to meet Pinback.” He never really went to the bathroom, the little sneak! I almost died! What in the hell was I going to say to them???? We waited for a few minutes and then a man came and brought us in to meet them. Jeff had explained how I had started the “Pinback Buttons For Charity” site after hurricane Katrina and also the LiveJournal Pinback community, both of which I no longer run due to the fact that I have already spread myself too thin. Anyway, I met Zach first, which is who I really wanted to meet (no offense Rob) and he was everything I thought he would be. He was very friendly and gracious. He seemed like a very down-to-earth person. I told him how much I loved his side project Systems Officer and how I WANT MORE! He explained that he was working on new songs but unfortunately his hard drive died and now he has to do them all over again. Damn computers! Then I met Rob, and although I can imagine how daunting it must be to meet crazed fans, he seemed like he didn’t want to talk to me. That’s okay though…. I wonder how I would be in that situation. After awhile, everyone would just drive me nuts to the point where I’d rather rush to my tour bus for some peace and quiet.
I am kicking myself for not bringing my camera.

I bought her for jewelry display purposes when I photograph my creations. She came with that hair, which I like, but there’s a different wig I am going to get when I have the $$$. I suggested that we give her a name. Of course, boys suck at this sort of thing because my husband wanted to name her Bonnie. BONNIE. Um, NO.
My daughter kept staring at her and was really confused when I pulled the wig off. Terrorizing my children is so much fun.
Hopefully I won’t find my son hiding in the closet, making out with her. Its a good thing she has no boobs.

The newest issue of Radar magazine is the first issue I have ever read of this mag and I absolutely enjoyed it. It has some stellar writing throughout the entire thing, but the most enjoyable part of the current issue is the Hype Report. The online version only gives a few links. On the homepage, you can sign up for a free issue (like I did) and read the entire report. Within the report, there was a little blurb, off to the side, about blogging:
Woman: I am going to pay you a lot of money to fix this properly.
Man: Thank you. I am an expert at my job and I take pride in my work. I will see to it that you are taken care of. After all, that IS why they pay me!
And then I woke up.
It’s getting worse. People want to demand high salaries, yet they do half-ass jobs.
Case in point:
1. air conditioner sucks
2. I have a “home protection plan”
3. air conditioner covered by “home protection plan”
4. man comes to fix it
5. man does shitty work
6. man gets paid (very well i might add)
7. air conditioner still sucks
8. girl calls man 2 weeks later to do the job correctly
9. man has attitude on phone
10. waiting
(And yes, I know for a fact it was a shitty job because I received a second opinion.)
If you do a half-ass job because you:
a) hate your job
b) think you should get paid more money
c) are not qualified
d) are just an asshole
THEN QUIT YOUR JOB. Don’t make the rest of us suffer. Find something you can do that you can take pride in doing. Spending your days doing something that yields a large bank account but causes extreme unhappiness is going to kill you in the long run. You’re going to need that hefty bank account for therapy and prescription pills because you’re too depressed about your meaningless, unhappy existence.
And fix my goddamn air conditioner already.
Jeff says I have found my calling. I have been playing around… creating/editing music when I am supposed to be getting orders out and answering the tons of freakin’ emails I get. He thinks my music would make good “movie music”. I decided to post my latest creation here, but I made a little video to go with it. The art for the video came from the web.
