Being at the recording studio was a wonderful experience and I am sure I will spend a lot more time there. I finished the vocals for three of our songs, although only two of them are ready for you to hear. Check them out at our MySpace page:

Last night, our band Honest Mistake went into the recording studio to lay down tracks for three of our songs. They are called “Wristcutters”, “Faker”, and “Run”. The Wristcutters song was written about the movie of the same name. You should check it out. I have to go back into the studio tonight to record the vocals. But I can tell you…. the music part is so good. The boys came out of there feeling really good. I hope I don’t fuck it all up! Anyway, if I am lucky, I will be coming home with a mastered copy. If not, I am sure by the end of the week, we will have the tracks up on our myspace page. Wish me luck!

Also, what the hell is up with the IRS this year?? I was supposed to get my tax return on the 31st. Never received it so I checked and now they moved the date to Feb 10th. This is ridiculous. I am so broke!!!!!!!

And as far as my weight loss….. I have lost about 12 pounds. So… in order to reach my goal, I have to lose 8 more in a little over 2 weeks. Totally possible if I keep eating and working out like I have been. I used to HATE exercise. But now I kind of enjoy getting on my treadmill. I sleep so much better at night. I wake up refreshed. I have more energy during the day. My clothes are fitting better. I don’t feel so fucking old anymore. I’ve been using some lightweight free weights to try to tone my arms. As soon as my tax return gets here, I am getting a huge tattoo on my other arm and I want to be able to show it off. Lord knows my arms are in no shape to be looked at right now. So, once again….. wish me luck!

YET! I know, I am so horrible about updating it. As if I had any time before, now its even worse.

I mentioned a few posts back that I was singing in a band. Well, now our band has our first gig coming up on February 20th at The Music Vault. Am I freaking out? Well that’s putting it mildly. I really wish I could lose a few pounds before the show. I am getting my tax return in 10 days and can afford to buy something cool to wear. I just wish it was in a smaller size!

Today is my birthday. I am 31. I almost puked when I was typing that.

Anyway, one of my favorite bands is a band called The Winter Sounds. My husband arranged for them (and some guys from Tereu Tereu) to sing Happy Birthday to me!!!! Check it out!

I have watched it over and over again and its just plain weird. Don’t get me wrong…. I love it. Its just strange that they are talking to me!

The actual birthday celebration happened last Saturday night at The Ultimate Sports Bar, where my husbands band was playing for the “Gotzi Gala / Sight For Sierra Fundraiser / April’s Birthday Party” event. When I went to order a drink, Wendy the bartender told me she was under strict orders to get me extremely drunk. Since I had no choice but to listen (wink), I indeed became so drunk that by the time I got home, I ran through the front door and puked in the toilet. Hey, at least it wasn’t on the floor!

You should check out the Sight for Sierra website. Sierra is almost a year old and has brain damage. Her parents are hoping to raise enough money for stem cell treatments so that Sierra might some day be able to walk, talk, and see.

Its hard to believe that it was three months ago when I blogged about the Eddie Izzard show. Time goes by so fast.

We attended the show last night in Dallas. We rented a car for the trip and they gave us a 2007 Pontiac G6. It was sooooooooooooooo awesome. I would totally buy one. We arrived early and sprung for valet parking.

I wore my favorite polka dot dress and Jeff wore black slacks with a black dress shirt and a red tie.

We had decent seats, but there was one problem. The guy sitting next to me apparently had a body odor issue. And it was baaaaaaaaaad. It was so bad that Jeff asked if there was any way we could be moved. The usher tried really hard to find other seats, but it was a sold out show.

Its okay, once Eddie started the show, we forgot about the smell (as much as we could). The show was absolutely hilarious. Very similar to the Dress to Kill routine. Not the same jokes of course, but lots of history references, etc.

Then, after the show, we made our way to the back door of the venue to see if he would come out. He did. But he didn’t have time to sign autographs or take pictures. Jeff begged him, but he couldn’t. He did do a Q&A similar to this one.

Tomorrow is another big event for us. Jeffs band is playing at the grand opening of The Music Vault. This is a big show for them and we are all excited (and nervous!).

I died and went to karaoke heaven last Thursday night, where I gave my best performance ever. I started doing some vocal training a few days before. On karaoke night, I was doing those silly vocal exercises in the shower. You know…. the ones that make you sound like a drooling baby? Well, they must’ve worked because I actually did a good job singing! I chose You Were Meant For Me by Jewel. I had forgotten about that song until I heard someone sing it last week, so I thought I would give it a try. Jeff says I did well because I didn’t have time to think. I do have this BIG problem with thinking too much, which is why I literally lay there for 2 hours before I finally fall asleep. Anyway, I put my name on the list early because I was afraid of someone else getting to that song before me. Before I knew it, they were calling my name and everything moved so fast. I literally sang in a way I never thought I could sing and now… I just wanna sing sing sing all the time! Now I have to come up with more songs for karaoke night. Any ideas?
